Crosspoint’s Next Big Initiative

God is always moving people from where they are into something new – new freedom, new purpose, new spiritual territory.

The next five weeks, we’re turning up the spiritual temperature and stepping into what God wants to do next in and through Crosspoint.  This is more than a series—it’s a journey: part vision, part infrastructure, and part spiritual formation.

Strap in. Let’s go!

COMMITMENT WEEKEND:  MAY 14+17

Three territories, fueling environments, developing people, and extending hope—so more lives can be changed from here… to there.  You won’t want to miss this!

Week 1: MOVE & EXPAND WITH GOD

This is the opportunity for your group to discover what God might be saying to you out of the
weekend experience, and how you can respond through a group discussion.

*These questions are designed to help you create meaningful conversations. Adjust the
questions as needed, and don’t feel like you need to answer all of them.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. Where do you feel like God might be inviting you to move “from here… to there” right
now—in your life, faith, or relationships?

2. What stood out to you most from the message this past weekend? What do you believe
God may be saying to you?

3. What are the “Goliaths” in your life—or in our community—that feel too big to face right
now?

-> Follow-up: Are you more likely to confront them… or hope they go away?

4. David’s confidence came from who God is—not his own ability. Where are you relying
right now more on your own strength than on God’s?

5. Curt challenged us this past weekend: Are you a teammate or a bystander? In what areas
of your faith or church involvement are you currently more of a spectator than a participant?

6. This past weekend, Curt talked about moving away from “fair share” to full engagement.
What would it look like for you to fully engage—not just financially, but with your time, energy,
and faith—over these next 5 weeks? Name one area you want to move in.

7. Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” How have you seen
your priorities (time, money, energy) shape what you care about most and dominate your
attention?

8. Let’s talk application: What is one specific step you can take this week to move from
“here” to “there”?

9. PRAY: Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like: “God, thank you
that you’re always moving us from where we are to something new. Give us the courage to
take our next step and trust you with where you’re leading. Amen.”

4.23+26.26 – Week 988 – Curt Walters – “Step Into The Hard Things“

Curt Walters invites us to see how doing hard things with God moves us from here to there – into real growth and deeper faith.

Week 2: Surrender and Do Hard Things

This is the opportunity for your group to discover what God might be saying to you out of the
weekend experience, and how you can respond through a group discussion.

*These questions are designed to help you create meaningful conversations. Adjust the
questions as needed, and don’t feel like you need to answer all of them.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. What is one difficult thing you’ve been through in life that you are now grateful for?

2. What’s something in your life right now that feels hard—and your instinct is to avoid it or
walk away from it?

3. What stood out to you most from the message this past weekend? What do you believe
God may be saying to you?

4. This past weekend, Curt pushed the idea that hard doesn’t mean something is wrong. How
does the motto, “We do hard things,” align with the way your family of origin operated? Is it a
motto that would fit your perspective toward life now?

5. How has your view of difficulty shaped your faith? Do you tend to see hard things as a
problem or an invitation?

6. As we looked at the story of Abraham and Sarah, Abraham had to put the very thing he
loved most “on the table.” What is something in your life that would be hardest for you to
trust God with right now?

7. This weekend we looked at how all the greats throughout our faith history have had to do
difficult things, and this is one of the significant ways God shaped, formed and grew them.
Can you think of a time when something difficult actually shaped or strengthened your faith?

8. Curt walked through putting real life things on the table—family, finances, comfort, future.
If you have had the chance to do this exercise, what surprised you? If you have not had the
chance yet to do this exercise, what might you be most tempted to protect or hold onto?

9. As you consider all we discussed this past weekend, what do you feel God is showing you
or saying to you right now in this journey?

10. PRAY: Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like: “God, thank you
that you’re always moving us from where we are to something new. Give us the courage to
trust you and show us where you’re leading us personally to trust you more. Amen.”

4.30+5.3.26 – Week 989 – Curt Walters – “How To Hear From God and Give Freely“

This weekend, Curt Walters helps us understand how to hear God’s voice in what we give, and how to trust Him in the tension between generosity and everyday life.

Week 3: Hear from God and Freely Give

This is the opportunity for your group to discover what God might be saying to you out of the
weekend experience, and how you can respond through a group discussion.

*These questions are designed to help you create meaningful conversations. Adjust the
questions as needed, and don’t feel like you need to answer all of them.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. When was the last time you were positively impacted by someone else’s generosity (could
have been big or small- financial or otherwise)? How did it make you feel?

2. When you think about generosity or giving, what emotions or thoughts come up first for
you?

3. What stood out to you most from the message this past weekend? What do you believe
God may be saying to you?

4. This past weekend, Curt described two competing voices – God and the false god of
mammon (Matt 6:24) – both trying to win your heart. How have you experienced those two
voices in your own life? How can you tell the difference between them?

5. “Mammon” promises security, identity, and happiness. In what ways are you tempted to
trust money for security instead of trusting God?

6. Jesus says where your treasure is, your heart will follow. If someone looked at how you
use your money, what would it reveal about what matters most to you?

7. Curt outlined a Biblical Chart for Giving: common giving, tithes (returning first 10% to
God), offerings (what we give out of the next 90%), and extravagant generosity. How did that
chart challenge or clarify your perspective toward giving?

8. Did anyone spend time with the “Listening to God” guide this week? If so, what’s one thing
you sensed God saying—or something you’re still processing?

PRAY: Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like: “God, thank you
that you’re always moving us from where we are to something new. Help us, and our
Crosspoint teammates, live with a spirit of generosity beyond the ordinary. Give us the
courage to trust you and show us where you’re leading us personally to trust you more.
Amen.”

5.7+10.26 – Week 990 – Curt Walters – “3 Territories, One Mission, Forward Together.”

Curt Walters shares the three territories God is calling us to expand into through the Here to There Initiative – and how opening your life to God can lead to something larger than you imagined.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. We’ve been talking about how God is always moving people from where they are to new places. Where in your life do you sense God might be trying to stretch or enlarge you right now?
  2. What stood out to you most from the message this past weekend? What do you believe God may be saying to you?
  3. What does the word surrender mean to you? What emotions does it bring up?
  4. One of Crosspoint’s unique contributions to the Kingdom is being an outward-facing church where people who are uncomfortable with faith can explore it safely. What stands out to you most about that vision? Why does that matter to you personally?
  5. Curt used the eclipse illustration to describe the difference between partially following God and fully surrendering to Him. Where in your life have you been living up to 99%? What might 100% look like?
  6. The Apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians that God loves a cheerful giver – not someone giving reluctantly or under pressure. What do you think helps generosity move from obligation… to joy?
  7. Curt invited us to spend some time this week thinking about how we want to respond on “Here to There Commitment Weekend.” What’s one step you sense God inviting you to take this week — financially, spiritually, or through serving?
  8. CLOSE & PRAY:  Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like:  ““God, thank you for giving us imagination, for the ability to dream. Give us the courage to act. Strengthen our stakes and enlarge our tents. Amen.”

Week 5:  Commitment Weekend

This is the opportunity for your group will discover what God might be saying to you out of the weekend experience, and how you can respond through a group discussion.

*These questions are designed to help you create meaningful conversations. Adjust the questions as needed, and don’t feel like you need to answer all of them.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. What stood out to you most from the message this past weekend? What do you believe God may be saying to you?

2. This past weekend was commitment weekend in the HERE TO THERE Initiative.  What did it feel like? What are you feeling right now?

3. What can make the idea of commitment difficult or uncomfortable for you?

4. The HERE TO THERE Initiative is really just beginning.  What is something that God has been moving you on in your life, faith, or relationship with him? How are you taking action on what you’ve experienced?

5. Curt said that some moments are rare opportunities that don’t come around often.  Have you ever experienced a moment where you sensed God inviting you into something significant or sacrificial? What happened?

6. In Genesis 22, God was testing Abraham to see if he was all in his love for him by highlighting how faith often moves beyond feelings into action.  Why do you think acting on faith can sometimes feel difficult or risky? What helps you trust God when obedience feels costly?

7. What are you most excited about in the Here to There Initiative?

8. Before you wrap: Discuss your group’s next steps (whether you will continue gathering or are taking a break for the summer from your normal meeting rhythm). Ask: What hopes are you carrying as you look ahead to the summer? What’s one way we as a group can be praying for you?

9. PRAY: Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like:  “God, thank you for wanting to know us and bless us. Please hear our worries and hopes, and give us wisdom and courage to surrender as we follow You. Amen.”
