Small Group Guide

PALM SUNDAY: WHEN JESUS DOESN’T FIT YOUR PLANS

This is the opportunity for your group to discover what God might be saying to you out of the
weekend experience, and how you can respond through a group discussion.

*These questions are designed to help you create meaningful conversations. Choose the
questions for your group. Adjust the questions as needed, and don’t feel like you need to
answer all of them.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. What do you look forward to the most when Spring arrives?

2. What stood out to you most from the message? What do you think God might be saying to
you through this?

3. Is there something you have felt has a hold on you or has been distracting you lately?
Share with the group.

4. What is your reaction when you hear you are made in the image of God? How could it
change your outlook on things you are navigating right now or this week?

5. What is something in your life you tend to prioritize and put above Jesus?

6. Why do you think it’s easy for the things of this world to start to take your focus and
energy?

Read Matthew 21:4-5.
This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying, “Say to the daughter
of Zion,‘Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, on a
colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’”

7. Why is it surprising that Jesus enters Jerusalem in this way? In what ways has Jesus
surprised you in your life?

8. What is one intentional step this week to put Jesus back [or keep him] at the center.

9. Let’s end our time PRAYING TOGETHER. You can say something like;
“God, you provided a way for us to experience true freedom through Jesus. Help us to
find our identity in you. Show us where you want us to bend our lives to you. Put
someone on our heart to invite this weekend to hear your Good News next weekend.
Show us where and how you want us to lay our life down and serve others. Give us
wisdom and strength to serve you as King. Amen.”

Bonus Questions (check these out if you’re on a roll and want to go a little deeper.)

Share a time when you tried to bend Jesus to your life instead of bending your life to
the way or character of Jesus? Where are you looking for this right now (Jesus to
validate you or your position or your behavior)?

Where in your life could you use Jesus’ power? Why do you want him to move in that
area?

4.2+5.26 – Week 985 – Curt Walters – “Easter 2026: Dream Again“

All three identical weekend services include live music and teaching, numerous guitars and people dressed comfortably and drinking the same beloved liquid (in this case, great coffee).

Grab a theater-style seat of your choice. At Crosspoint, you’re welcome no matter what you believe, and we want you to experience freedom (including the freedom to leave whenever you want).

What Should I Wear?

Come as you are! Some families like to dress up for Easter, while others prefer to keep it casual. You’ll see everything from jeans to Easter outfits, so wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.

Can I Watch Online?

Absolutely! You can join us online beginning April 5th. It’s a great way to experience Easter from the comfort of your own home!

  • Infants & Toddlers
  • Pre-K
  • K-4th Grade — Upstreet

Where Can I Learn More?

You can learn more at our Plan Your Visit page!

Simply put, we want you to feel welcome. Whether you’re a devout churchgoer, a curious skeptic, or just in it for the chocolate bunnies, everyone is welcome at Crosspoint!

By giving us your info when you “Plan your visit”, we will give you a quick call back to answer your questions and connect you with someone who will be ready to welcome you the moment you walk in.

We will also take a moment to give you a tour, help you check in your kids, get a cup of amazing, free coffee, and introduce you to the pastor, Curt Walters. It’s not so scary when you know someone who’s gonna be there.
