Red Beans & Rice

  • 1 pound red beans
  • 1 onion
  • 1 16 oz can tomato paste
  • 2 Tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
  • 4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

 

Saute onion. Add beans and water to 3 inches over beans. Bring to a boil and lower to a simmer. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook for 3 more hours or until beans are tender, or cook in crockpot for 8 hours. Serve over rice.
