Knock-Off

People buy imitations because they want the real thing at a cheaper price. It’s easy to do the same in our lives—settling for a cheapened version of our dating, marriage and family relationships. Join us as we learn to distinguish between knock-offs and the real thing.

Week 324 // May 05, 2013 // Knock-off  Marriage

We can see people accepting the knock-off in marriages all over the place. Curt lays out a pretty clear picture of what a marriage is supposed to look like from a biblical perspective along with 4 “quick hitters” on how to improve your marriage and start to move it to a more healthy and wholly intimate place.

Week 325 // May 12, 2013 // Knock-off Parenting

It’s easy to wish your kids were different. That they behaved better… That they listened more… Whatever your wishes, there’s always a part that the parent plays into the child’s development. This Mother’s Day, we’re looking at parenting and 4 phases of investment it takes to help kids develop into life long friends.

Week 326 // May 19, 2013 // Knock-off Sex

Society tells us that accepting the knock-off version of sex is acceptable. From movies to music, TV to advertisements… we’re sold a lie at every corner. So, with very broad brush strokes, Curt talks to people in all stages of life about the honesty and intimacy that was intended for a sexual relationship between a man and a woman. It’s not dirty. It can be beautiful.

Week 327 // May 26, 2013 // Knock-off Singleness

Joining us this weekend is long-time friend of Crosspoint, Mandy Baldwin, bringing her unique perspective as a single to share with us what Knock-off Singleness looks like. By looking at how married people, the church, and even other singles perpetuate the myth of a spouse “completing” the other (yes, you’ll even hear a clip from Jerry McGuire) we see that there’s a substitute for individual wholeness in our culture today and the expensive cost of being comfortable and whole in singleness.

Also, being Memorial Day, we wanted to take a moment to honor those who have served and currently are serving our country. Hear retired Naval Chief Petty Officer Mike Dunn’s moving interview about the expensive cost paid by those who serve in our military to keep us from Knock-off Freedom.
