JOIN AN OBSESSION JOURNEY SMALL GROUP

Join Crosspoint for the “Obsession” Journey.  Weekend services, starting Thursday October 4th & Sunday October 7th, kick off the journey.

A key part to the Journey is getting into a small group.  In fact, if you want to maximize growth through the Journey, you really need to get into one.  Plus, it’s only 6-weeks.

Groups meet one time per week in area homes, restaurants, and here at Crosspoint on various days.  Chances are, there is a group near you on just the right day.

Questions and Answers

How old do I need to be to in Journey Group?

The majority of our groups are designed for adults.  On Monday nights, Crosspoint Student Ministry (CSM), will be breaking students into small groups to do the Journey, too.  Got kids?  See the area about kids and childcare below.

What kinds of groups do you have?

In general, groups are for everyone! However, we do have some groups for just men, just women, singles and single parents.  Most groups are just open … it’s cool to mix it up with people of different walks of life – we all can learn from one another.

What if I don’t know anybody?
Perfect! You’ll make friends in no time. Joining a small group is probably the BEST way to get to know others at Crosspoint! You are going to be good friends with your group by the time this Journey is over.

How does this work?
Weekend services on Thursday and Sunday kick off the direction for each week.  In the Crosspoint app or website, you’ll work through some simple prompts throughout the week(kind of like “homework,” but not as intense and no one is grading you).  When you get together with your group, you’ll work through a discussion guide. Don’t worry – it’s cool … it won’t get weird.

How long is it?

The journey is 6-weeks long. You’ll meet with your group one time a week and depending on the size of your group or how chatty people are, generally it’s 60-90 minutes long.

What happens to the group after the Journey is over?
The Journey kicks off our small groups for the next 9 months. 4-5 weeks into the journey, your group can have a discussion on whether or not you want to continue on as “Life Together Group” for the next series. Most groups keep going, but if you want to stop or try another group, that is cool, too.  Over the next few months, there will be several times for hosts and members to opt out or take a break.  Life Together Groups are provided a weekly discussion guide (no homework – woohoo!) based on whatever we are talking about in the current weekend service.

I got kids – what do I do?
Well, hopefully if you have kids you know what you are doing in general.  But when it comes to Journey groups, every group is different. Often times groups will come together on a plan for childcare, like hiring a group babysitter.  Depending on the ages of the kids, some hosts will have a place where kids can play and hang out on their own while the parents do the discussion.  Some groups are kid-free.

I’m not a “group-type of person” or “I’m not really into the church-thing”?

That’s cool.  Again, groups are only for 6 weeks.  Anybody can try something for 6 weeks.  You might be be surprised and find groups aren’t so bad!  And if you are not a “churchy-type” person or know anything about the Bible, no worries!  The beauty of the Journey (and Crosspoint) is that they are designed for wherever you may be spiritually.  You can share as much or as little as you want.

But …
… yes, you can think of a zillion excuses. Ignore ’em, a just jump into a group.
