Difficult People

People aren’t always easy to deal with.
But that doesn’t mean that they’re not important.

When GOD created everything, the only thing out of all of the cosmos that He said wasn’t good was that “man was alone.”

People matter.
People matter to GOD.
And people matter to us.

We’ve all had difficult people in our lives. If we’re honest, we’ve probably been those people too. The people that do things because we’re supposed to and get bent out of shape when things don’t go our way. In the lead off week for our Difficult People series, Lead Pastor Curt Walters explains that it takes more than “tips and advice” to love people. It takes grace. Grace that GOD shows us. People matter. People matter to GOD. So, people should matter to us. It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it.

This week Lead Pastor Curt Walters takes a long hard look at what it means to have difficult relationships in our lives. From family to friends, Jesus showed us that boundaries are important no matter the relationship. When we set boundaries in our lives, it shows us not only what we think about ourselves but also what we think about GOD. Setting healthy boundaries is appropriate and needed to help us navigate life within difficult relationships.

There are steps we can take to help difficult people in our lives. But, many times it’s not as easy as we’d like. This week Lead Pastor Curt Walters lays out some steps that can be taken to identify and release difficult situations with difficult people. As much as boundaries are important (see last week’s Podcast) we also find that it’s important for us to be mindful of how others react/respond to us in difficult moments. Everyone has a part to play in a difficult relationship. We must chose how to respond well.
