Week 339 // August 18, 2013 // The Mess Under The Carpet

We all know the things that drive us away from church. But, one of the biggest issues that we hear time and time again is that the church is “just a place about rules,” “makes me feel bad,” or “expects me to be perfect.” And, many times those experiences are true. But that’s not what the church was intended to be… nor should be. Listen as Curt explains how the church should be a place that helps people no matter their situation or condition, helps people engage in a fuller life, and doesn’t just sweep messes under the carpet.

Week 340 // August  25, 2013 // The Boring Church

“Church is boring.” You may have said it. Your kids may have thought it. But, why does the church have to be boring? We don’t believe that it has to be. See God doesn’t take attendance on if you do or don’t go to church. So that’s why we do things that we hope people will enjoy. Random bits of fun (like the Dance Flash Mob that you’ll hear happen within the first 2 minutes of this podcast), songs you’d hear on the radio, and taking ourselves pretty lightly. Cut explains how we can get past the boring part of church so that we can actually connect to it no mater our past experiences.

Week 340 // September 01, 2013 // How Dare We

Everyone’s been on the outside of a group at some point. The church has too often been seen as that group keep people out rather than letting people in. In this week’s teaching listen to Curt talk about a pivotal bad church experience he had causing him to realize that if Jesus came for everyone, then the church should be for anyone.
