SUNDAYS @ 9 & 10:30AM
APRIL 15 – MAY 6

PODCAST // RIGHT CLICK TO DOWNLOAD

WK 269// 041512 // EXHALING HUMILITY

In the lead-off week of the series, Lead Pastor Curt Walters takes a starting look at how pride plays out in our lives. Specifically looking at what pride looks like in our work places, he starts the discussion that all of need to have… how do we live lives that don’t exude pride and entitlement? We exhale humility and through a few practical steps, practicing humility can be much easier than we typically allow for it to be.

WK 270// 042212 // THE BATHROOM

Last week Curt began to show us some of the issues that creep up in our lives when our pride gets in the way. This week, from the stage set of a bathroom (toilet at all), he points to our moments of vanity and how when we place ourselves and ultimately what we think about ourselves above GOD’s priorities for our life, we begin to increase the distance we’ve created between ourselves and GOD.

WK 271 // 042912 // THE BLAME GAME

Judgement is a pretty common side effect of a prideful life. It doesn’t take very long before we’re blaming anyone and everyone else for the decisions and choices that we’ve made in our lives. Look at Adam and Eve and the serpent in the Garden on Eden. They all blamed each other and ultimately God. But, everyone has to take responsibility for their own actions and pride doesn’t always let us do that.

WK 272 // 050612 // ANXIETY

When pride takes root in our lives there are a side effects. Some more subtle than others. Stress, Anxiety, and Loneliness are just a few of the effects that pride can have. In this week’s teaching, Curt interviews Creative Director PJ Towle about his struggles with anxiety and the connections to pride that he’s discovering in his life.

“I’M SORRY.”

Two tiny words that can change everything.

We say them all the time, but when we truly mean them there’s emotion behind them.
There’s sacrifice in them.
They change us.

The simple fact about Easter: it was and is God’s way of saying,

“I’m sorry.
I’m sorry the world is the way it is.
I’m sorry you experience pain.
I’m sorry… I never intended things to be this way.”

Redemption always begins with two tiny words.

God moved first, and through one crazy, unheard of act of love he accommodated and reconciled the entire world.
We invite you to join us as we encounter this move that changed history…

Are we accommodating Jesus? … or does Jesus accommodate us?

No matter our history or spiritual origin, we can all feel abandoned and alone. We think we know what we need – though maybe it’s not always best. We wonder if God really understands or is even in touch with all that’s going on down here on planet earth.

Believe it or not, God has something better for us in store.

Join us as we explore our true identities as God’s phenomenal sons and daughters, and get a glimpse of the love of a Father who will do nearly anything to re-connect with his children.

Sunday’s at Crosspoint
March 4- April 8

WK 263// 030412// COVERINGS

In the kick-off week to this series, Lead Pastor Curt Walters dives into one of the first pictures of grace, redemption, and sacrifice that we read in the Bible. When Adam & Eve decided to mess the whole thing up and eat that piece of fruit, it set a course of devastation in motion. But, GOD, out of love for his children, sacrificed one of his creations to cover their nakedness. Grace. Sacrifice. Forgiveness. Redemption. All through the simple act of making clothes from an animal. All of those attributes, and showing that GOD has them for all, is part of the mission of Crosspoint. Listen as we celebrate our 5th birthday and attempt to learn a little more along the way.

WK 264// 031112// IN GOOD TIMES

This week Curt looks at the “patriarch” of our the Hebrew nation and the choices he made to follow GOD’s direction in his life. Abraham made some decisions to follow GOD when it seemed crazy. When GOD asked Abraham to “sacrifice” Isaac, Abraham knew that this was a typical ask for the “other gods” of the day. But when GOD stepped down and intervened once he saw Abraham’s faithfulness, it changed everything.

WK 265// 031812// THE AMAZING RACE

This week things were shaken up a little bit as Curt explored the importance of GOD’s running after people. At Crosspoint, we want to be about what GOD is about, and GOD’s all about people. So, listen in to the setup of the tour around Crosspoint that every person that gathered in the auditorium went on to discover the importance of every role a volunteer plays in the life of Crosspoint. Everyone saw every role, found out if they were interested in those roles and had the opportunity to sign up to serve in those areas. It was a big win kind of day for the life & livelihood of Crosspoint.

WK 266// 032512// PERSONAL JESUS

Jesus’ entire life was an accommodation. From his birth… taking on a form he didn’t have to… to his death for our redemption… we see Jesus’ life being majorly about people. He lived with them. He walked with them. He befriended many of the people that society rejected and we did, he brought restoration to them. This whole idea that the church has used for years to explain Jesus is relationship. And by looking into what we know of Jesus’ life, we know that he cared “a whole awful lot” about the people he was with. His relationships were accommodations. Listen is as Curt dives into this simple yet profound truth.

WK 267// 040112 // HEALING MIRACLES #1

WK 267// 040112 // HEALING MIRACLES #2

Jesus understood how to work in and thorough a crowd. When people of Jesus’ day heard of miracles it didn’t take long for a crowd to gather. And Jesus knew that when a crowd gathered, there was the opportunity for people to hear. But it was more than that. When Jesus took the time to heal an individual of their afflictions it got personal and when things get personal the real miracle happens in the heart of the one being healed. Sometimes that healing looks totally different than what any of us would expect. This week Curt interviews 2 women from the XPT tribe that have battled or are battling cancer. Each service one of them shared how their personal and communal stories have been shaped by healing. Listen to either or both services below.

So, what happens when the marriage vows are broken? What does the Bible say about Divorce? Is it permissible or should we “stick it out?” This week Lead Pastor, Curt Walters dives into these hard questions and with the help of a real life story of unfaithfulness, forgiveness, and grace we can see that GOD is always writing a story of grace… and it’s our decision to be a part of it.

The number one thing argued about in marriages is, you guessed it: money. Our finances can be a burden to our relationships and a barrier to our freedom. In this week’s teaching two members of Crosspoint’s FREE Financial Counseling team sit down with Curt to lay out some practical and biblical ways to create some financial breakthroughs this year. Take a listen and checkout the free tools below.

Accountability is a strange thing sometimes since most of the time we try to avoid difficult conversations. But, inviting someone into this type of healthy relationship has huge implications for personal growth and overall well being.

We tend to think of our sex lives as being separate from anything spiritual. But the Bible paints a very different picture of how spiritual realities run through every aspect of our lives including our sex lives.

God loves sex. Seriously. In fact, He wants you to have a great sex life, and it‘s more than just physical.

Join us as we discover what happens when all of the aspects of our world collide. Over these four weeks we’ll explore & expose the truths and lies about sex that circulate in our culture. It’s sure to be eye-opening, a little uncomfortable and even fun.

Whatever your thoughts on church, whatever your beliefs about God, you are welcome here.
Stop on by. We’ll have fresh coffee, kind folks, low lights, and easy exits if you change your mind.

(Disclaimer: These are PG-13 teachings, so you might want to listen to them when your kids aren’t around, unless you’re ready to have some interesting conversations about the birds and the bees.)

In our 3rd annual teach off Lead Pastor Curt Walters squares off against Lisa Pay professor of Sociology at Anderson University. Lisa brings 12 years of experience of teaching Human Sexuality courses to the table as she brings the female perspective in this battle of the sexes. It’s a knock-down, drag-out look at some of the issues that plague our culture about sexuality. Sit back and expect the unexpected.

It’s no secret that there’s a relational side to sex. But, when we treat that relational side of things like it doesn’t matter, when we treat sex like it’s just another option for entertainment between two people, we miss out on the intended intimacy that God intended for the sexual relationship. See, there’s something that happens when people start having sex. It’s meant to enhance a the relationship of marriage but when it’s treated incorrectly, it can easily becomes the focus of the relationship and quickly tears it down.

WK 262// 022612// THE HEALING

May times when the church talks about sex, it’s from a guilty standpoint. What we want people to know out of today’s teaching is that there is healing. Plain and simple. GOD’s grace covers it all. What if sex built and healed past scars rather than destroyed a person’s sense of self worth. It is possible. And, it’s available.
